perks
Perks are what most would consider their character's most prized passive abilities. Everyone's perks are unique to them, and based on their race, personality, fighting style, magical affinity, and other odd traits. Though unique, there can be a slight risk to buying them. This is due to perks being entirely randomized and decided by staff.
We choose this method due to a belief in keeping the gameplay in Paradise fairly balanced, however do not take this as you having absolutely no control of your character's perk fate. Below you will find the list of categories which you can choose from, as well as their varying costs, which allows you to build your character in a way which fits your personal play style.
There are two exceptions to the randomly generated perk rule. The first being that tech classes may customize their first two perks, and the second being in the instance of a Disability Perk - with is a perk with no positive bonuses.
Make sure to post in this thread noting your purchase with the following code:
COMMAND
Brought forth from the inner rage, courage, or sheer hotheadedness of the Champion, a Command perk boosts offensive ability and is unique in that they are the only category with a possibility of an AoE (Area of Effect).
COST: 50 HCKSLVR
REINFORCEMENT
Whether it be cowardice or the need to protect those around them, a Champion may call upon a Reinforcement to increase their defensive capability. These perks are the only ones capable of possibly having multiple targets.
COST: 50 HCKSLVR
BLESSING
Blessing perks may take on many forms, however one thing remains constant among them: They may only affect the user. These are possibly the most general of perk types and tend to take the form of an aura.
COST: 50 HCKSLVR
UTILITY
Knowledge of tools, the cunning arts associated with the most intellectually gifted of Champions within their particular field of expertise. These perks affect equipment and other items, and may have a stat boost incorporated under specific conditions.
COST: 50 HCKSLVR
GAMBIT
A gambling man's most common fault is their allowance of fate to carve their path, though a reliance on luck may also be their greatest weapon. Gambits are completely random, leaning neither one way or the other on the spectrum of perk capability. The cost of a Gambit is anywhere from 50 HCKSLVR to 5000 HCKSLVR. The more spent, the more likely one is to grab a better perk!
COST: 50-5000 HCKSLVR (INCREMENTS OF 50 ONLY)
